The Health Management Internship Program (HMIP) is supported by the Victorian Government.
The Health Management Program (Victoria) offers committed, high-potential applicants the opportunity to develop the skills, capabilities and knowledge required to begin a career in managing the challenges and complexities of health service delivery across Victoria. Throughout the two years of the program, Management Interns are given the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of different workplace and educational opportunities.

The Victorian Department of Health is seeking to support Aboriginal people to participate in the HMIP and encourages Aboriginal people to apply for the Department-sponsored intern position.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must:
Provide proof of Australian Citizenship, permanent Australian residency status or have full work rights until the end of 2025 at the time of application.
Hold a relevant undergraduate qualification and/or postgraduate qualification. A minimum of three years' work experience is desirable.
Agree to undergo all required pre-employment health screening and checks, which includes but may not be limited to Working with Children Check, Aged Care Check, National Criminal Record Check, and Health Checks including COVID vaccinations required by placement organisations.

All shortlisted applicants will be advised via email and/or telephone. The group interview will be a skills assessment and is required for those who are successful in their Stage 1 application.
The assessment is made up of a 2-3-hour session comprising two different tasks to assess your ability to critically think, problem solve, work in teams, prioritise information, analyse data and present information.
Panel members will comprise representatives from ACHSM and representatives from various healthcare backgrounds.
Group Interviews will be held virtually via Zoom on Friday 6 October 2023 and candidates will be notified shortly after if they have made it through to the individual interview stage.
Before the interview, you are required to complete an online assessment in your own time. The assessment comprises 5 separate tests, each limited to 10 minutes.
The final stage of the selection process is an interview with a panel of individuals and will be 50 minutes in duration. The interviews will also be held virtually via Zoom directly after the group interviews on Friday 6 October 2023.
Candidates will be emailed preliminary offers and asked to verbally accept. A formal contract will then be emailed for signing and return to ACHSM. If you accept the placement a one-off Program fee of $1200 + GST is applicable.
An orientation day will be held mid-December 2023 and the Program will commence with orientation on Monday 8 January 2024.
ACHSM reserves the right not to appoint to the HMIP.
