In August 2022, the Northern Territory was home to the Garma indigenous cultural festival in East Arnhem Land. Highlights of this event included a visit by high-profile dignitaries: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the US Ambassador to Australia, Her Excellency Carolyn Kennedy – daughter of the late US President John F Kennedy.
